Apartment Therapy!

They spelled my name wrong, but got my website link right, so thats what counts, right?

If you've been following my facebook, you may have noticed the newest addition to the small kleiman / garcia condo: Mr. Sonny Wrigs! Cutest mini poodle on the planet. I'm hoping this is going to somehow be inspiring artistically? haha... Also, stay tuned for Spain fotos. they will be scanned today!

I have a new job and its really great and exciting! I'm working at Paper Source, in the River North area of Chicago. I've been there for about two weeks now, and I get to do lots of things like help people pick out and design invitations and cut things out for the store windows. Time flies and I get to spend my day surrounded by all things letterpress. mmmmm....

While I haven't added much work to my site, I have a few ideas brewing in my head / in my studio. We'll see if any of them come to fruition! But in life other than art, I have just started an internship at a super cool contemporary chicago gallery! It's an exciting life update for sure. Waiting to hear about a few other paying gigs, and waiting to hear back from graduate school. Sigh... But I am going to España with Juan and my parents in about 2 weeks which should be an amazing time. I will most definitely come home with a million photos and pockets full of great foreign garbage!

So to make up for the complete wash that was the Around the Coyote weekend... I did quite well a the Marwen Art Fair! Not only did I spend a significant amount of time and energy helping to plan the event (which I really did enjoy) I sold a few pieces! I sold my very last print of one of my silkscreen editions which was exciting and I sold two other silkcreens and one litho. Half of the money I made goes back to Marwen which is a nice thing. But I do think the most exciting part of the event was the planning. It got me all jazzed up like I used to get with Hillel openings... plus, someone at the event asked me to do music at another party! DJ Alison Kleiman in the house!

It came as quite a surprise about two weeks ago when I was invited to show that the Around the Coyote Fall Arts Festival. It's going on right now (October 12 - 14).

My little booth is at 1240 N. Ashland Avenue. It's not listed in any of the publications for the fest, because our store front was a last minute addition. Regardless, stop by if you're in the area, and if you're far away, I'll take some pictures and put them up here.
